On Thursday, upon our arrival, we were all warmly welcomed by Alicia and Sergio at the airport and driven to The Centre of Hope. It was so nice to be able to meet the staff and volunteers of Loving Arms we have heard so much about.
Today (Friday) was a busy day for the construction team, Dave, Mike, Doug, and Mikey (King), learning about the needs of the Centre and sorting the wonderful tools that had been generously donated to Loving Arms, setting up the workshop and starting the storage closet on the second floor for the womens’ co-ops.
The Education team, Evangeline and Louise, started their day with the amazing bus ride over pot holes and in and out of the wild traffic, into Parramos picking up all the dear little children receiving hugs, high fives and big beautiful smiles. Later the Education team sorted the donated supplies and learned how we can best support the English program at The Christian School of Hope.
We have all been overwhelmed by the beauty of the country, the friendliness of the people, their pressing needs and their appreciation of the support we are here to provide. We have been blessed today by the opportunity to serve here.
