Sadness All Around

Devastation has hit Guatemala. This weekend the Volcan de Fuego (Volcano of Fire) experienced its most powerful eruption in over a decade. Unfortunately many people have lost their lives while those who have homes nearby have lost everything they own. It is a very sad time but we are very thankful that the villages and people we work with are all okay. Our school is an hour away from the volcano and currently we are dealing with poor air quality and large amounts of ash covering much of our property. We will continue to update you as things change since there is a possibility of a resultant earthquake due to the eruption. Thank you for all of your continued thoughts and prayers.
