Isaac Machry – Blog Update

Buenos noches everyone! I don’t know if I spelled that right but it’s supposed to mean good evening. I think. Anyways I am back with another blog and I am actually writing this the same night I wrote my last blog so if the spelling is really bad on this blog then there is my excuse. This blog will be covering my day off from work on Sunday and my work day on Monday! My day off on Sunday started off like a normal Sunday at home with church in

Our first three ladies, Monique Dugas, Meaghan Leblanc, and Viola Landry, will be working with us for a week. They have collected the funds to build a home for a family in need. We know they will be

World Race- Week 2

This past week, our World Race team  got to work at the "Big Blue House" or the Loving Arms main building. Some days we would hoe the yard and garden around the house and the property. We even helped the amazing Angel repair a fence that had broken down. But most days we were inside the building, collaborating with the staff and volunteers to clean and organize,  prepairing for the upcoming ministries. We cleaned the classrooms, sorted though papers,

Today started off with cereal and milk (delivered fresh to the door) and then headed off to the Hope Center. There we saw 200+ people. There were many many people that pulled on our heart strings, and we all needed a few minutes to collect ourselves. Our afternoon consisted of teaching nursing students respiratory assessments, mom and babe clinic, dehydration an CPR. They were so intuitive and full of questions. What a great assets these people will

May 21 , 2015 – Day 4

Fixing Our Eyes   This morning we woke up and had scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast waiting on us from sweet Carmen.  When the clock hit nine, we loaded our bags up and walked to the Center of Hope where preschoolers and their mothers were waiting for us.  Once we arrived and they all received their nametags, we brought the children upstairs while their parents remained downstairs for a parent meeting with Linda and Alicia. For our activities

March 12, 2014 – Day 3

Hola Readers!!! Day 3 in Guats has been superb. The weather was scorching hot which is nice compared to your -15 degree temperature. We started the morning with a nice scrambled egg breaky that Carmen cooked for us (her food is incredible). Then we headed to Chitaburuy, which is the smallest school we will visit. It had around 20 kids aged 2-8. We did our VBS which included Spanish songs, a skit, games and bracelet making for crafts. Afterwards,

Saturday, December 21st, 2013 – Day 6

Today was a really exciting day for everyone in the group.  We woke up early this morning and headed to Antigua to do some shopping in the markets. After a couple of hours of touring the area, we met up for lunch at a local restaurant. We were able to see some of the famous touristy landmarks and take pictures. It was really cool to be able to go to the markets and buy some of the handmade goods in Guatemala to have as souvenirs to take home with

November 16th, 2013 – Day 8

On our last clinic day in Parramos, we saw 271 people in 4 hours. Can you say productive? Since we were again in Alpha Y Omega church, it was nice to see familiar faces. We ran out of certain medication and supplies but managed to work our way through it. Among all the different cases we saw one patient that struck us the most. He had a wound on his arm that was infected 6 days ago. We all worked as a team to clean and debride it. The little boy
