Loving Arms Flowers Fundraiser a Success!

Thank you to all of you who supported this fundraiser by purchasing or donating. Over $3,500 in plants were sold. The monies raised will be used to support our various educational programs that will enable children to pursue a better education. May 21 , 2015 – Day 4

Day 1 – Monday May 18th

Today our team of 11 had our first full day in Guatemala.  We worked primarily at the Center of Hope organizing and doing multiple things to get the new school up and running for the grand opening in January of 2016.  The school will be home to 20 preschoolers and 20 Kindergarteners in the hopes to expand this number in the future.  We are so excited to help in any way that we can with the school! Admin Duties? How exciting!

Adult Literacy works!

Phase two of our Adult Literacy Program was completed in October 2014. A celebration, to honour the students, was held at our Centre of Hope in February 2015. 15 people from San Bernabe completed grades 3 & 4 while 10 from Parramos finished grades 1 & 2. Two grades can be completed each year. Within this program adults learn to read and write. At the ceremony one man tearfully thanked us for this wonderful opportunity. He never attended school
