On Saturday, May 4th, we hosted our Spring Tea event at Chartwell Church. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon of refreshments, fundraising auctions, prizes, and meaningful dialogue about the important work we’re doing in Guatemala.

We had an opportunity to express our gratitude and pay tribute to the organization that has supported up since 2008 – the SHARE Organization. SHARE Founder Les Frayne was an early supporter of our now thriving Dairy Co-op and the namesake of our first cow, LeslieIn 2012, we launched our pilot diary project and it has since served the community well, providing an avenue for sustainable development.

During the event Jane Raham shared her first-trip-experience and Brian Gore reflected on the multiple trips he’s taken to Guatemala. It was a delight for everyone in the room to hear about their support and impact in action.

The hallmark of the event was the address from the Ambassador of Guatemala. He talked about how grateful the embassy and the government of Guatemala are for all we do for their country and their people. The generosity of the Loving Arms organization and its supporters is overwhelming and so gratefully appreciated.

We are so grateful for the overwhelming support we received and for all those that participated. We’re happy to share that we raised $12,500 and through the generous foundation of Charis, this amount will be matched.

Consider donating through Canada Helps, volunteering in Canada, or joining a team visiting the school in Guatemala to help build our new dairy co-op. For more information, please reach out to us at info@lovingarms.ca

What’s special about this co-op is that it is operated by the parents of the students who go to our School of Hope!
