The final day of my trip was also Dia de Los Madres (mother’s day) and the birthday of Antony, one of my sponsored children.
We all sang happy birthday to Antony before going to class.
I expected it to be a routine day, but they had a surprise for me. The teachers all thanked me for coming and what my visit has meant to the children. The children had songs and dances prepared for me. Afterwards, we took a picture together and I received hugs from 80 kids back to back. Enma also came by the school to say goodbye.
After lunch, I trained the school staff on CPR and the use of an AED (defibrillator). I felt the class went very well, and I was very happy with what we accomplished.
Sadly I had to leave, and Sergio drove me back to Guatemala City, but I am confident that I will be back soon.
Loving Arms would like to take this time to thank Steven for his tireless efforts during his trip to Guatemala. We are forever indebted to the generosity of fine volunteers like yourself! Thank you for your contribution to the Colegio Cristiano Esperanza, for your support of your sponsored family, your helping around the Centre of Hope, your help with the food distribution, and the countless other ways you showed your love this trip! We hope to see you again very soon.
